Goals for 2015

goals for 2015 the dauntless dreamer

I love making lists and goals so you can imagine the beginning of the year or even the beginning of every month is a lot of fun for me!  I’ve already made a 30 before 30 list but since that is spanning all the way through 2016, I decided I also want to make a goal list specifically for 2015.

1.  Enhance my Pet Photography Portfolio.

Photography is a big passion of mine.  I’m drawn to many different subjects – wildlife, landscape, abandoned buildings and many others.  A lot of photographers tend to shoot weddings, babies and family portraits to maintain their income.  I’ve never wanted to shoot those things though.  Does that make me terrible?  I don’t think so – I’m just not a people person.  I do, however, very much want to get into pet photography.  This would definitely be a way of living I’d be happy to take part in.

What better way to practice than on my own dogs?  I plan on doing that this year.  A lot.  Don’t worry, I’ll reward them with lots of treats.

2.  Volunteer more.

I love volunteering but life gets in the way a lot.  I want to change that this year.  I want to volunteer as much as possible.  I may need to get creative with us sharing a vehicle and all but I’ll figure it out.

3.  Stick to my work schedule.

I spent days creating a day-to-day schedule for my blogging, writing, photography, crafting and so on.  Now, I need to make sure I actually follow my schedule so that I can make the most of my limited time.

4.  Earn $4,000 a month in online income per month.

More would be better but $4,000 per month on average would make me very happy.  I know the beginning couple months won’t be this much but I hope by the end of the year it will average out to this much.

5.  Have 50,000 social media followers total for The Dauntless Dreamer.

This may seem like a lot to many but after having a travel blog for a year and a half and learning things the very hard way, I’ve figured out what does and doens’t work for the most part.  I don’t know it all, but I know where to spend my time and where not to waste my time.  This number included Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Google+ and quite honestly, I think surpassing 50,000 is completely possible.

6.  Completely stop drinking coke.

It seems no matter how healthy I eat, I can’t stop drinking coke (or any soda).  It needs to stop.

7.  Be in the best shape of my life by my birthday.

September 4th.  I’ll be 29.  I’d like to spend the last year of my 20s in the shape that I’ve always known I can be in.  I’m not horrible now, but I’m not what I’ve always thought myself to be in my head.  For the record, ‘in shape’ to me involves being toned and fit – not just skinny.  I want abs – at least a couple.  I won’t be stingy with needing six of them.

8.  Add more tattoos.

This year, I finally finished one of my sleeves.  I hope to get even more done in 2015.  I have enough ideas to cover probably 10 bodies so it’s just time and money needed at this point.

9.  Make and wear an epic Halloween costume.

I love Halloween.  It’s my favorite holiday.  I love costumes and dressing up.  I never, ever do anything epic though for lack of time and poor planning.  I WILL do it this year.

I’ve been throwing around ideas for a while – many leftover from last year that I didn’t get to do.  We finally decided last night for sure.  Since we are going to Disney World in late September and want to be able to wear our costumes one of the nights we are there – we are going with a Steampunk version of Beauty and the Beast – I am beyond excited!

Belle is my favorite princess and if you knew Kaleb, he is going to make an amazing Beast.

10.  Stick to my Challenges

I signed myself up for a 365 Photo Challenge and am doing a reading challenge as well.

11.  Have a Successful Etsy Shop

I’ve had an Etsy shop for a couple years but never really put much effort into it.  This year is the time for that.  Right now, I sell my photography and a couple pieces of handmade jewelry.  By the end of  January, I plan on having a few other items available : more jewelry, photography, hoop art and hand-lettered prints.  Check out my shop here!

12.  Start Writing a Novel

I keep saying I’m going to start a novel.  I hope 2015 is that year for me.  It’s hard to focus my time on it when I have so many other things going on, but I hope to at least get a good start on one this year!

13.  Make the Merge to More DIY

I’m not just talking about crafts here.  I’d really like to start making some of my own household items like laundry soap, beauty products and so on.  Basically anything I can do on my own without being over the top about it, I’d like to do.

14.  Don’t Over Purchase

When downsizing drastically before my Asia trip, I realized everyone buys way too much stuff.  I had so much stuff, I had forgotten what I had and never used many things.  I don’t plan on accumulating that much stuff again and when I do need something, plan on thrifting or re-purposing as much as possible.  It’s more fun anyway!

15.  Focus on the Present

Ironic ending to a goal list, huh?  I have a bad habit of looking into the future.  I love planning and love anticipation so I’m often always thinking of the next thing.  I want to focus more on whatever is happening at the moment though.

What’s on your goal list for 2015?

Great goals!!! I want to get toned in 2015 too. I’m not concerned about my weight, but I do want to get some abs by the end of the year.

Hope you meet every one of your goals this year, or at least get very, very close to meeting them. Last year I ditched my resolutions and joined the one word revolution. 🙂 My word for the year is organize – with organizing goals for different areas of my life.

Your last one of the list is one of my top desires. I want to make the most of the present. It’s in the moment that you get visions and ideas for the future and learn how to celebrate your past. I love the way you are determined to become a social media rock star as well. All the best!
